Butterflies

I prayed for the butterflies
not to leave their chrysalis
For it appears beautiful
Each flap sings of freedom
freedom of love
freedom for love
freedom to love
With each flap,
My heart skips a beat
Everyday is another mystery
To the pain he'd bring
My thumping heart of pleasure
Butterflies of nausea
Soon become anxiety.
For when love runs out
All it leaves is the pain it brought.
That thumping heart of anxiety.
Dear One,
Protect me from loving what's yours
more than Yourself.
For I'm afraid to grieve
this infinite pain of the heart
wasting this precious tears.
Let my heart cry only for You
None but You.
